Using native & exotic hardwoods to create his boxes, Don also makes use of framing materials, veneers, marquetry & interesting hardware. Grain, knots & other remarkable features of the wood often dictate the design, size & style of the box. Thus, each box is different. In his studio, started in 1996 as a custom framing shop, custom shadow boxes are also created to house memorabilia or personal collections.
