Michelle Ochonicky
“Mike” has been named one of the top 200 Traditional Craftsmen by Early American Art Magazine. Her scrimshaw is included in the permanent collection of the Missouri Governor’s Mansion & featured in newspapers, magazines & on television. She has been working at scrimshaw for over a quarter of a century & works on cow bone, deer antlers as well as palm tree seedpods, never whalebone. The ivory she occasionally uses is that of discarded piano keys.
